Cheap Eats

Since many of us travel on a very limited budget when attending AALL and Boston is a very expensive city, here are a few places that offer eats on the cheap.

  • Moody's Falafel Palace - Located in Cambridge, this is bang for the vegetarian buck (they offer carnivorous options, too). It is a tiny place usually filled with MIT students, just off Central Square. If you are planning an excursion to Havard Sq, get off one stop early at Central Sq., grab a falafel and take a walk up Mass Ave to Harvard Sq.
  • The Dirty Water Dog - The hot dog carts can be found throughout the Boston Commons and around the Public Gardens. I never once got sick and some offer veggie dogs. They also sell Italian sausages with all the fixins.
  • City Place Food Court - Located across the street from New England Law Boston near the Boston Commons, the food court offers restaurants and food court fare. The taco/burrito stand is pretty good, fresh, and cheap.
  • Dim Sum - Boston has a great Chinatown, that boasts a broad assortment of Asian cuisine. China Pearl is my personal favorite, but there are many more options.
Other ideas, pizza in the North End, pho in Chinatown, the local pubs all of which serve food, and the Trident Bookstore cafe.
